It is already known that Sandeep Reddy Vanga is one of the most enigmatic and possibly the most attention grabbing director of this generation. But the thing with him is that he comes across as a very impulsive person by nature.
This was understood by the fact that he fired Bollywood star actress Deepika Padukone over logistical matters. This was followed by another fierce tweet from him as he indirectly faulted her for planting media reports against Spirit.
Sandeep clearly took the offensive on the matter as he defaulted Deepika(unnamed in the tweet) for the smear campaign against Spirit and also belittling Tripti.
This has now reached a point where this has become an indirect battle between Sandeep Reddy and Deepika Padukone. As careless as Sandeep may seem on this matter, it is certain that he’s going up against the Bollywood media system with this move.
If Sandeep can emerge victorious in this and deliver a big blockbuster with Spirit, then sky is the limit.
On the other hand, Sandeep is already in the bad books of several Bollywood media people and film celebrities who labelled him as a toxic film make. They are all desperately waiting for him to have a slip up so that they can pounce on him.
If other directors can make do with an average film, Sandeep will have to deliver an extraordinary output to overcome this targeted hatred and intense scrutiny.
The immediate aim for Sandeep Reddy will be to justify the decision of bringing in Tripti Dimri in the place of Deepika Padukone. This is turning out to be a battle of ego, and Sandeep will have to deliver a beyond ordinary experience if he is to emerge victorious in this battle.
