A new entrant has made the Sankranthi 2027 race even more interesting. Sai Durgha Tej’s much-awaited Sambarala Yeti Gattu has completed its final shooting schedule. Produced by Chaitanya Reddy and Niranjan Reddy, the producers of HanuMan, the film is directed by Rohith KP.
The makers have spent nearly two years on the project, with a speculated budget of more than Rs. 100 crores. Major attention has been given to production design, action and its period setting. With the shoot now wrapped, the film is heading into an extensive post-production phase.
More importantly, Sambarala Yeti Gattu has officially locked January 12, 2027, for its theatrical release. A new poster featuring Sai Durgha Tej in a blood-soaked action avatar has also increased curiosity.
The actor’s transformed muscular look and intense action sequences are expected to be among the film’s biggest attractions. The promotional material so far suggests that the makers are aiming for a large-scale theatrical spectacle.
But the real excitement is around the Sankranthi clash.
Sambarala Yeti Gattu is entering a race that could feature several major films. Chiranjeevi’s Mega 158, reportedly titled Kadiri Kakaji, is being planned for the same festive window. Rajinikanth’s Dharman is also being considered for Sankranthi, while the Anil Ravipudi directorial starring Venkatesh and Kalyan Ram is another sureshot contender.
If all these films stick to their plans, Sai Durgha Tej could end up competing directly with his own maternal uncle Chiranjeevi. That makes this more interesting than a regular star clash. A Sai Durgha Tej vs Chiranjeevi battle during Sankranthi would naturally attract plenty of attention, especially given their family connection.
Of course, Sankranthi release plans are rarely final this early. Production schedules, post-production work and theatre availability can force films to postpone.
But for now, Sambarala Yeti Gattu has officially entered the race.
