The film isn’t making any noise in the Telugu States and that’s the reason why the Telugu audiences didn’t see anything controversial in Mani Ratnam’s latest release ‘Nawab’. But, the Tamil version of the movie ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ has angered a certain community for the political dialogues in the movie.

Demanding removal of those controversial dialogues that have angered a particular fringe outfit, a bomb threat call came to Mani Ratnam’s office. Upon receiving the threat call, immediately the police were informed and who conducted a thorough check only to find out that it was a hoax call threatening the director for the above-mentioned dialogues.
This isn’t the first time Mani Ratnam has received a bomb threat call or a threatening message. Way back in the 1990s, movies like ‘Roja’ (1992) and ‘Bombay’ (1995) that addressed the terrorism problem also got him threatening calls from certain fringe outfits demanding the removal of dialogues and also certain portions of the respective movies, even. Whenever the director touched a controversial subject, Mani Ratnam had to face the threatening messages.
