Like Rajamouli announced after ‘Eega’ and ‘Baahubali’that he wouldn’t be working on VFX for his immediate upcoming film as working with heavy VFX had been very taxing, director Shankar announced the same. He will not be working on VFX rich film immediately. Instead, he would go for a normal movie (he is doing social theme based ‘Indian 2’) with no heavy VFX work required. But he will be taking up a science fiction film as a follow-up to it.

The only reason why ‘2.0‘ got postponed several times is that of the heavy VFX works. The movie is heavily dependent on the computer graphics work as one-third of the movie’s gigantic budget is being eaten away by the heavy graphics. Director Shankar said that he was frustrated when the VFX company missed the deadline. Added to this, the design that took him a lot of labor for getting the birds look right was a total disappointment.
He and his technical team had to spend more than a couple of months to redesign it and go for working it on the VFX. The movie has been shot totally with 3D lens and a total of 2100 shots went into making the movie using the 3D technology. One can understand how would a filmmaker feel when the work gets delayed and the product doesn’t come out as expected. He is now taking every caution to get the VFX right and give a unique experience to the audiences.
