Actress Shalini Kondepudi has described Sing Geetham as one of the most unique projects of her career, calling it a film unlike anything previously attempted in Indian cinema. The actress revealed that she portrays a strong villainous character in the musical comedy directed by creative genius Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.

“I came to know that there was a role with negative shades in the film. Since it was a Singeetham’s project, I immediately wanted to be a part of it. After the audition process, I was selected for the role,” she said.

The actress highlighted the film’s distinctive storytelling style, where every dialogue is delivered musically. “This is not just a movie with songs. Every word in the film is musical. Even conversations flow like songs, which made the process very challenging for all the actors,” she explained.

Set in the fictional village of Kuberapuram, the story revolves around a mysterious world where people communicate through music. Shalini said audiences will discover the reason behind this unusual phenomenon only when they watch the film in theatres.

Calling the project completely original, she stated that the team did not rely on references from any existing films. “Our only reference was the vision of Singeetham and producer Nag Ashwin. The film reflects both their creativity and sensibilities. The story is very relevant even today.”

Talking about her role, Shalini described it as one of the most exciting characters she has played. “It’s a character with many layers. She is strong-willed, determined, and believes her opinions are always right. The role is crucial to the story and offers a lot of entertainment.”

She also praised composer Devi Sri Prasad for crafting music that seamlessly integrates spoken dialogues into songs. “The entire concept works because of the music. DSP sir has done an exceptional job,” she said.

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, Sing Geetham stars Ayaan, Ahilya, and Shalini Kondepudi in key roles. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 11.
