The strategical release of SOS in maximum number of screens in US has paid off and at the end of the day one, Bunny-Trivikram’s movie has reportedly collected a fantabulous revenue of $338K in US though the premiere shows on April 8 and became the third highest grosser after Mahesh’s Aagadu ($527K) and Pawan’s Atharintiki Daaredi ($345K).
These big collections account to the director’s brand and the star’s previous release’Race Gurram’. Trivikram’s crowd pulling capacity to premieres in US and Allu Arjun’s debut into million dollar club in US through ‘Race Gurram’ added to the massive release for garnering third highest collections in US and making it’s place in the top 3.
However the real test in US begins from the weekend i.e., from Friday. As the US audiences completely rely on web reviews, one has to wait and see how far the film can woo audiences. It’s overall performance in US will depend on the weekend occupancy and the figures it can rake in the first weekend. That’s a real acid test for Bunny-Trivikram combo this weekend in US.
