Coming to the topic, reports have emerged, claiming that the post theatrical digital streaming rights of Liger have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. It is reported that the OTT streaming rights of the action drama were acquired for Rs 60 crores.

We got in touch with our well-placed sources close to Liger unit and we have an affirmative update. As confirmed by our sources, Amazon Prime is indeed in talks with the makers of Liger and they look to orchestrate a deal pertaining to the digital streaming rights of the film.

However, a concrete deal is yet to be signed. The makers of Liger are asking Rs 80 Crores + GST for the all-language OTT rights. Amazon Prime is yet to make any promises in this regard. They are said to be willing to offer Rs 60 crores. Once the amount is finalized, the deal will be signed and an official announcement will follow.

Notably, Vijay is already a popular face in the Telugu states and he is a known personality in Bollywood as well, thanks to Arjun Reddy. Puri, a master of commercial cinema enjoys patronage amongst action lovers in the Hindi circuit. So, it is fair to say that Liger is one of the keenly anticipated films. That could the reason why Amazon could go the extra mile for the film.
