Her social media statement has drawn attention as it speaks not only for herself but also for many actresses who are silently facing similar online harassment.
Recently, many fake AI generated images of Sreeleela have gone viral on social media, where she is seen taking semi-naked selfies in a bathroom. Not just Sreeleela, but Tamannaah, Samantha, Kajal, and many other actresses have also been targeted with similar AI images that are circulating online.
In her posts on X and Instagram, Sreeleela stated that technology is meant to improve lives, not to harass, humiliate, or objectify people. She urged users not to encourage such nonsense by sharing such AI generated content, stressing that while the responsible use of AI is acceptable, abusing it to create vulgar and fake material is completely unacceptable.
She reminded the public that choosing cinema as a profession does not strip a woman of dignity or respect. Actors are often treated as easy targets online, and this lack of empathy causes real emotional and mental distress. Sreeleela said this issue disturbed her deeply. She added that many of her colleagues are facing the same problem, which is why she chose to speak out.
She also emphasized that actresses work with the belief that they will be treated with respect. When that sense of safety is shaken by online abuse, it becomes extremely painful. She appealed to fans and audiences to stand by women in the industry, adding that collective support makes a difference.
