Shah Rukh Khan is undoubtedly the star of 2023. After scoring two consecutive all-time blockbusters, Pathaan and Jawan, he is set to conclude the year with “Dunki,” a Rajkumar Hirani comedy-drama scheduled to release in December.
However, yesterday a poster was revealed that revealed that the film has been preponed from December 22 to December 21.
The makers of Prabhas’ Salaar recently announced that their film is coming on December 22 and clashing with Dunki. Now with Dunki’s change of release date, have the equations changed? Read on.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment made a highly strategic move by choosing December 21 as the release date. This decision grants “Dunki” a solo release nationwide on its opening day. Whereas Salaar will have to face Dunki on its first day which means the screens and shows will have to be shared equally between both films.
The decision to release a day earlier seems smart, as it allows “Dunki” to establish its presence one day before the clash starts.
Dunki will get the advantage of a solo release in India, even if it is just for one day. If the talk comes out positive, then Dunki will have an upper hand over Salaar which will be releasing the next day of Dunki.
Now we have to see if the makers of Salaar also move their film to December 21 so as not to give Dunki any kind of advantage or if will they stick to the 22nd.
Either way, these films are expected to create a never-before-seen box office frenzy due to the immense star power they bring.
