Suresh Babu Sees The Future of Cinemas From A Different Angle

Suresh Babu- DaggubatiFilm Industry is undergoing an extremely turbulent period during the Lockdown. The shootings have come to a halt and the theaters were shutdown. Theater owners are struggling to keep their businesses afloat and there are speculations that they may go bankrupt and resort to distress sale very soon.

However, Senior Filmmaker cum distributor, Suresh Babu looks it different. He feels that Single Screen theaters may be better places than the Multiplexes if they tide through this crisis. And that observation comes through his vast experience.

“Single screen theaters will be deemed safer. Because for the filmgoer, he will not have to pass through a mall with the crowds on his way to the multiplex screen on the fourth floor,” Suresh Babu says and it makes a lot of sense. “In another way, Single Screen owners still have real estate and they can always use it for some other purpose. It is not the case with Multiplex. They have to keep it vacant,” he adds.

Suresh Babu holds many theaters in both the Telugu States. Various films of his Production House are stuck in various stages. So, it is a double whammy for him.
