After the failures of Kanguva and Retro, Suriya has nearly completed shooting for two upcoming films. These include Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, and the tentatively titled Suriya 46, directed by Venky Atluri. Both projects are in advanced stages.
Despite having two completed films awaiting release, Suriya has already begun work on his 47th film. The project is tentatively titled Suriya 47 and is directed by Jithu Madhavan. This shows his busy schedule and steady pace of work.
Amid this, strong speculation suggests Suriya will collaborate with Mari Selvaraj for his milestone 50th film. Reports say Kalaipuli S Thanu will produce the project. This collaboration is linked to Vaadivaasal, which was dropped earlier due to unforeseen reasons.
Sources indicate Suriya is doing this film as compensation to Kalaipuli S Thanu after Vaadivaasal did not move forward. However, Mari Selvaraj already has a packed lineup. His next project is D56 with Dhanush, along with possible films featuring Karthi and Inban Udhayanidhi.
