Suriya Aiming at Sixth BB This Deepavali When we look at Suriya’s Deepavali releases spanning the last two decades, there have been five releases including the National Award winning ‘Pithamagan’ (Siva Putrudu in Telugu) in 2003, all the five have been successful.

Out of all the four films, ‘7AM Arivu’ dubbed as ‘7th Sense’ in Telugu was a blockbuster in Tamil in 2011. Speaking about Suriya’s festival super hits, ‘Vel’ in 2007 dubbed as ‘Deva’ was a box-office hit movie. In 2009 it was ‘Aadhavan’ (Ghatikudu in Telugu) that hit the screens for Deepavali and recorded a blockbuster.

Of course, there is ‘Nandha’ in 2001 that was Suriya’s hit film before ‘Pithamagan’ happened. This Deepavali in 2020, Suriya’s festival release is going for a direct OTT release and this is the first time a South superstar has chosen an OTT platform without waiting for a theatrical release.

Going by the Deepavali sentiment, Suriya’s fans are expecting nothing less than a blockbuster opening talk for ‘Soorarai Pottru’ helmed by Sudha Kongara.
