Telugu director Venky Atluri who previously delivered a decent film Lucky Baskhar—especially appreciated during its OTT run—is now gearing up to direct actor Suriya, who is currently navigating a rough phase in his career with back-to-back flops.
According to unverified sources, this new project is reportedly titled Viswanathan and Sons, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
Interestingly, director Venky Atluri shared that the project initially started as a biopic centered around the iconic Maruti 800 car.
However, Suriya wasn’t keen on another biopic, having already done two in recent years.
In response, Atluri reworked the concept into a family drama, which Suriya agreed to take up.
If the title Viswanathan and Sons turns out to be accurate, it hints at a heartfelt, emotional family story in the making—potentially aligning with the kind of content that could help Suriya reconnect with audiences.
