The latest news in the film industry is the remake of the ’80s super hit item number ‘Naino mein sapna’ from Himmatwala. The original version portrayed the famous Jeetendra-Sridevi Jodi along with music by the iconic singers Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.
In the remake, Kishore Kumar’s son will be taking his place as the lead male singer while Shreya Ghoshal will be filling the lofty shoes of exceptional singer Lata Mangeshkar. The song was filmed in a beach setting starring Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah. The song was a great replica of the original because of the brightly colored props and the matkas and the perfect setting but it turned as a disappointment as there was no chemistry between Ajay Devgn and Southern actress Tamannaah and a few other reasons.
Ajay seemed totally dispassionate about doing the Jeetendra technique of dance and left some of his steps incomplete as if he was in a hurry for the next shot. Choreographer Farah Khan, who admits to be a lover of the ’80s cinema, also came as a disappointment since we expected a lot more from her. Music composers Sachin and Jigar also didn’t complement anything new or striking to the original version.
