Gaddar Awards

The Telangana State government has begun the process for the prestigious Gaddar Telangana Film Awards to recognize excellence in cinema in the state.

A jury meeting was held on Tuesday at the FDC Conference Hall, chaired by actress Jayasudha. Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) chairman Dil Raju addressed the jury members and emphasized the importance of evaluating nominations impartially and with integrity.

A total of 1,248 nominations have been received for the awards.

Of these, 1,172 are in individual categories, and 76 nominations are in other categories such as feature films, debut films, children’s films, documentaries, short films, film criticism, and books related to cinema. The screening of these nominations will begin on April 21.

Dil Raju urged the jury members to make sure that the awards bring national-level recognition to the Telugu film industry. He pointed out that after 14 years, the State Government is reintroducing the film awards.

He highlighted that such a strong response was never seen even during the unified Andhra Pradesh. He expressed full confidence in the jury, which comprises experts and professionals appointed by the government.

Speaking at the meeting, actress Jayasudha said she sees the responsibility entrusted by the government as a challenge. She assured that the selection process would be carried out with sincerity and dedication.




Dr. S. Harish, managing director of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, confirmed the receipt of the 1,248 nominations and emphasized the significance of the awards in bringing national-level recognition to Telugu cinema.
