Mita Vashisht is a famous Hindi actress remembered for her roles in Dil Se and Ghulam. She has also done some films down south. She recently shared a troubling casting couch experience involving a Telugu filmmaker.
During the Chennai Film Festival, she recounted how the filmmaker tried to prevent her from leaving a room and later chased her outside as she sought safety.

In a recent interview, Mita revealed that the director offered her a lead role but demanded she live with him for two months. Initially, she thought it was a misunderstanding, but the director made his intentions clear.
She attempted to leave, but he blocked the door. Laughing to defuse the situation, she escaped and returned to her friends.

Her friends Kumar Shahani and Khalid Mohammed intervened when the filmmaker later appeared in their room, and they calmly dealt with him.
Mita stated that she makes it clear to directors that she won’t engage in such behavior, and some have still cast her, respecting her boundaries.
