In this digital era, anything that an actor or an actress says is under constant threat of blowing up on social media. One such thing happened with young actress Chandini Chowdary who is now in the midst of an IPL conundrum.
Going into the story, Chandini was recently asked about her favourite IPL team. Many thought she would give the standard reply of SRH which is the Hyderabad based franchise.
But Chandini replied she is from Andhra Pradesh and the state doesn’t have an IPL team so she too doesn’t have a favorite IPL team. When a journalist said SRH is here, the actress replied that it isn’t an Andhra based side.
Thus immediately triggered a series of negative reactions from social media crowd.
A few people started saying “Chandini is from Andhra Pradesh and she would support an IPL side based on the caste of the players in the side. If there’s a side that has her caste players, she would support that side. But that’s not the case with SRH so she doesn’t own this side as there are no caste equations here.”
The issue blew up so much that Chandini had to clarify that her comments were taken out of context and she really does belong to both the Telugu states. She then cheered for SRH. What started off as a casual comment from Chandini led to a caste propaganda against her and eventually led to the actress having to clarify on the same.
