Supreme Court had struck down the petition filed against the upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh. It is known that a person from Vijayawada filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the apex court. The complainant stated in his petition that setting the capital in crop yielding lands is a violation of human rights as capital on the bank of Krishna river will spoil the ecological balance.
He also brought to the notice of the court that it is not safe to construct the capital in the area prone to floods. The court took the PIL for hearing today and commented that Construction of city and
construction of a building is not the same and there is no such thing like Environmental permission for city.
And the apex court finally struck down the petition. The petitioner is still unsatisfied with the ruling and announced that he will go to Green Tribunal appealing against the capital.
