The Telugu states box office has enough Content this weekend with multiple films arriving at the ticket counters. The biggest name of the lot is The Odyssey, which is directed by Christopher Nolan and has a significant following amongst the Multiplex section of Telugu audience.
As of the current trend in Hyderabad, this Christopher Nolan film is selling in the range of 8.3K tickets per hour, which is a pretty solid number for an English film here.
Oppenheimer had comparatively better bookings in a head to head time comparison but that was a lot due to the hype game. But this film did not entirely connect with the Telugu folk, which could have marginally depleted The Odyssey’s prospect. But this start is solid enough.
Then we have Akhil’s Lenin which is in second, we run at the Cricket counter, and this film has sold around 32,000 tickets in the last 24 hours. It has slowed down marginally after a solid first week, but this drop was always expected to be the case as well.
There are a bunch of other films like Vadala and Oh Sukumari and none of them have been able to enter the booking charts on BookMyShow till now. They are expected to get off to a slow start, and that is the case as well.
It is interesting to note that an English film is dominating the Telugu box office this weekend. But things could get really interesting next weekend in the form of Jana Nayagan and Chennai Love Story, which are releasing on July 23, and 24 respectively.
