Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is joining hands with his Balupu director Gopichand Malinineni for a new film. What’s more, Balupu heroine Shruti Haasan has been brought on board as well.
While the shooting of the yet-untitled film is going to start after some time, there is already a buzz doing the rounds in the industry. It is being said that RT66 is a remake of Theri starring Vijay. Remember the Tamil star film Vijay released as Policeodu in Telugu?
What is adding to the gossip is that previously Ravi Teja was associated with the Telugu remake of the Tamil movie. However, the director back then was different. He was Santosh Srinivas of Kandireega and Hyper fame. It is Gopichand Malineni now, but the police backdrop suggested by the unit in promotions is helping the talk to continue.
It is heard that RT66 is not a direct remake, but a different version of the Tamil film. The changes are so many that it would hardly look like the original. Hence the makers are avoiding anything to do with Theri. Gopichand Malineni confirmed the same a few days ago. Well, Theri itself was a hotchpotch of many police backdrop movies, so it shouldn’t be a big issue in the end as long as RT66 is entertaining.
