Several small films become blockbusters and fade away, but very few leave a lasting mark, mainly because of their characterization.
DJ Tillu succeeded mainly due to this reason, creating a scope for a sequel even though there wasn’t a real need for it. However, the audience won’t complain, as they want to be entertained once more.
Till Square kick started its promotions and released the promo. The first glimpse heavily relies on the oomph factor of the heroine, Anupama Parameswaran, along with Tillu’s ‘hot’ banter with her, which resonated well with its target audience.
But the team should be cautious not to limit Tillu Square’s box-office potential by solely presenting it as a youthful film with ‘hot’ dialogues, as it has great potential to entertain a wide audience.
While attracting youth, Tillu Square should also appeal to a broader audience to generate bigger numbers. For that to happen, setting the right promotional campaign is key.
