Allu Aravind’s Geetha Arts has been inactive for a while but it’s Sister concern, GA2 Pictures is quite active making medium and small films.
Geetha Arts used to be synonym of star-studded big budget films. They used to command a Brand Value in the industry and trade. They have illustrious films like Jalsa, Ghajini, Magadheera, etc in their filmography. Even their failed films garnered so much of value in the audience and trade.
GA2 Pictures is churning out quality less films. Prati Roju Pandage in 2019 was a commercial hit but there are complaints about too much cringe in the name of comedy.
Chaavu Kaburu Challaga and Pakka Commercial were massive disasters. The average result of Most Eligible Bachelor is a small respite.
Another problem is making too many small films. They have films with small actors like Nikhil, Kiran Abbavaram, Anand Deverakonda, Karthikeya, etc in their lineup.
Talk in the trade is the production house is too dependent on satellite and digital market and making films on that calculations. But that calculative approach is costing their hard earned brand value.
Even though they do that on other name, ultimately it is an impact on Allu Aravind’s and Geetha Arts’.
It’s time for Geetha Arts to be back with some star film with Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, or Ram Charan and redeem itself.
