Market correction generally happens in many largest scale industries. We generally see such activities in real estate, stock market, and often in the film industry as well.
As it appears, Tollywood also on track to witness a market correction very soon with regard to the heroes remuneration.
The complaint from many producers these days is that the OTT platforms are not paying adequate amount of money for OTT rights. And on top of that, almost every hero is charging remuneration, which is beyond fiscal responsibility.
Even mid Hero are charging over 10 crores these days, it seems. In this situation, producers are always at huge risk as they will have to cover all the financial costs of producing and then pay hefty amounts to heroes.
Considering the OTT drought and also the hugely unpredictable theatrical market, it is about time that the heroes payment model takes a hit in Tollywood.
However, at the same time, there is a discussion that there are these few producers who are happy to pamper heroes and pay them what they want. It is suspected that this is the reason why heroes are still not reducing the limitation demands.
However, it should not be long before the active and leading producers take a clear call on this and explain the situation to heroes and facilitate a correction by downsizing their remunerations.
We might be with missing something like this happening in just a matter of months, if not longer.
This is becoming increasingly evident if you look at the fact that a hero, who could do hundred crore film is not even able to generate mention worthy shares with his immediate next film.
This isn’t about any individual Hero or a producer, but a collective thing that is happening with Tollywood.
