Shocking Counter To Naga Vamsi

After the recent Bollywood vs South Indian movie debate that sparked with the producers’ round-table interview with Baradwaj Rangan, producer Dinesh Vijan has stated that the claims of a South takeover are wrong.

‘Lucky Baskhar’ producer Naga Vamsi debated Boney Kapoor on how the Southern industries have replaced the entertainment ideas of Bollywood.

He had said, Bollywood used to cater to a very specific Mumbai audience but movies like RRR and Baahubali changed that and gained a huge pan-Indian audience.

Now, Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, has said, “I don’t believe there’s a ‘takeover’ by southern cinema.” He went on to say that even after the pandemic, Bollywood has given movies like Gadar 2, Jawan, Pathaan, Animal and Stree 2.

Even small budget films like Stree 2 have become blockbusters and it is a wonder, about this Vijan has said, “This clearly shows that the Hindi film industry is performing as well as its southern counterpart.”




It is not about creating a hegemony but entertaining the audience in every way possible. And every industry will have expertise and weaknesses of their own. According to Vijan, “It’s about giving audiences fresh and unique content.”
