2022 is almost coming to an end and every Tollywood fan is looking forward to 2023. But as things stand today, things don’t seem too exciting in the new year. Most of the big superstars are going to have no film release in 2023.
After delivering the global phenomenon RRR, both NTR and Ram Charan have failed to plan their films properly. NTR30 with Koratala Siva has still not started shooting. And Ram Charan’s film with Shankar might not release next year as the director got busy with other commitments.
There’s also a talk that things aren’t too well between Dil Raju and Shankar which might also cause some delay before they sort out their issues.
Allu Arjun also hasn’t started shooting for Pushpa 2 yet. It’s almost a year since the first part was released. To make the script of Pushpa 2 more compelling and hard-hitting than the first part, Sukumar and his team of writers have consumed a lot of time. It was expected that the sequel would release by the end of 2023. But now it has been pushed to Sankranthi 2024, though there is no official confirmation.
Prabhas is coming out with Adipurush in January 2023 and after the teaser release, things aren’t looking too bright for the film. He is shooting for multiple projects and no one, including Prabhas, has any idea about which film is he shooting for. Is he shooting for Salaar, Project K, or the one with Maruthi, fans are also clueless.
Mahesh Babu has a film on the floors directed by Trivikram. But the film’s shooting hit an unexpected speed breaker. It will take some time for Mahesh Babu and other crew to resume the shoot. So there might be a change in the release plans of the film next year.
Pawan Kalyan will have a release in the form of Hari Hara Veera Mallu and after that, he will take temporary retirement from films till the 2024 elections. The Vinodaya Sitham remake has been shelved and the fate of his other projects depends on his performance in the elections.
So mostly, 2023 will be the year of senior and tier-2 and 3 heroes ruling the roost.
