Tough Time For Pushpa 2 in Mumbai

Pushpa 2

Pushpa 2, after missing out on the otherwise lucrative August 15 slot, has moved to the December 6 slot. The unit is said to be working hard to make sure that the film sticks to this release plan and releases on December 6th.

However, the latest developments are suggesting that Pushpa 2 might be having a tough time in the all important belt of Mumbai, Maharashtra on the 6th of December.

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava which was already announced for release on the 6th of December is sizing up to be a direct competition for Pushpa 2.

Chhaava is a cinematic adaption of the life story of the legendary Chatrapathi Sivaji and this film holds significant cultural value amongst the North audience, particularly the Maharashtra belt.

Sivaji is a big deal up north and more so in the important Mumbai belt that is usually the cash cow for Telugu films that fare well up North. The teaser of the mentioned film was released the other day and it promised a rollicking action ride.

All of Mumbai shakes for the Sivaji sentiment and this is exactly what Chhaava is banking on. This could certainly eat into the prospects of Pushpa 2 at least in the opening weekend.

But the good thing for Pushpa 2 is that films usually get a long run up North and hence, if the Allu Arjun starrer can pull up good word of mouth, then there shouldn’t be much of an issue. But there deterrent in the openings is not what Allu Arjun would be wanting.
