Two Biggest Victims Of Kalki 2898 AD

Kalki 2898 AD

Prabhas’ latest film Kalki 2898 AD is having an impressive run outside the Telugu states. It has collected a substantial 286 crore across India, with all regions performing well by Sunday despite a slower start in some places. This puts Kalki 2898 AD about 50 crore ahead of Salaar, with the main difference being a 40 crore higher collection in Hindi.

In the Telugu states, the collections are almost identical to Salaar, with both films reaching just over 125 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD is comfortably leading Salaar after the weekend, with the Hindi version far ahead and Tamil Nadu also showing better performance.

However, Kalki 2898 AD’s success has significantly affected two films that were close to reaching 100 crore.

Vijay Sethupathi’s recent film Maharaja received unanimous positive reviews and performed exceptionally well during its first and second weekend, including its Telugu version.

The release of Kalki 2898 AD has impacted Maharaja’s chances. Initially expected to easily cross the 100-crore mark worldwide, Maharaja is now struggling due to the competition from Kalki 2898 AD.

The film had reached around 85 crore gross worldwide, but its 100-crore dream now seems unlikely.

In Bollywood, the horror comedy Munjya, despite not featuring any big names, turned out to be a super hit and was on track to become a 100-crore net film. However, due to Kalki 2898 AD, it may now fall short of this mark. Munjya has collected around 93 crore net so far.

Due to the overwhelming success of Kalki 2898 AD, both Maharaja and Munjya have had to sacrifice their dreams of reaching the 100-crore milestone.
