Nani’s Dasara opened in theaters today and with early premieres in the USA, the film has opened on a very bright note at the USA box office.
Dasara could be putting up a number in the range of $600-700K from the USA premieres. The positive talk from the evening shows has clearly worked the trick for the rustic actioner.
Dasara has now established a new all-time record for tier 2 hero and medium budget films for Tollywood films in the USA. The previous highest premieres gross was Liger which made $504K.
Nani has now set a record with a debut director, Srikanth Odela. He and the rustic nature of the film are the only pulling factors here, so this feat is all the more impressive.
With the positive early trend and encouraging word of mouth, Dasara could very well go big at the USA box office. At this rate, the film should be going past the $1 million mark by this Saturday.
The weekend collections could give a view of where the film might end up in its full run. But from what we can see from the premieres trened, it can put up a surprise.
