Malayalam cinema has produced its biggest blockbuster for the year 2026 in the form of Vaazha 2. This film released a couple of weeks ago, and it is already one of the highest grossing films of all time in Malayalam Cinema.
According to the latest box office reports, this film has collected in the range of ₹170 crores which is a huge number in the Malayali market.
But when it comes to the actual content and theatrical experience of this film, many Telugu who happened to watch it or commenting that it is fairly mediocre.
The public consensus is that the film has its moments of fun and emotions here and there, but it is not even remotely close to the originality and freshness of the first part.
The first part had a lot of life and fresh approach in terms of writing. But when it comes to the second part is single layer, and the writing is also convenient. The trademark Malayali brilliance in writing such stuff is missing.
It might make for a decent theatrical experience for the Telugu audience at best, but the first part is still the better of the two, despite the fact that the characters aren’t fully related. There are reminiscence of the first part and that can be considered as the saving grace. Beyond that, this is a mediocre stuff, says the public opinion.
But considering the lack of entertaining options for the Telugu audience, they might turn up in reasonable numbers for this film over the weekend. People are commenting that the hype for this film on social media is doing more work than the actual content.
