VD Deletes Independence Day Post? Big Mystery

Vijay Deverakonda Rana Baali poster Deletion

Allu Arjun reportedly deleted his Independence Day post today after facing backlash over an image of the Indian flag that allegedly did not feature the Ashoka Chakra. Now, Vijay Deverakonda has also sparked curiosity after his Independence Day post was reportedly deleted from social media.

On the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, Vijay shared a heartfelt message asking Indians to remember the sacrifices of their forefathers and never forget the cost of freedom. He also shared a new poster from his upcoming period action-drama Rana Baali, in which he plays a patriotic character.

However, the post was later removed from Vijay’s social media account. Interestingly, Mythri Movie Makers also deleted the same post from its official handle. The reason behind the sudden deletion is currently unknown. Neither Vijay nor the makers have issued an explanation.

The post was specifically created for Independence Day and was closely connected to Rana Baali’s patriotic setting. There is speculation that the issue could be related to the poster, particularly the way the Indian flag was shown with Vijay wearing it around himself. However, there is currently no confirmation that the poster contained any factual or technical error. It would therefore be premature to assume that the flag was the reason for the deletion.

Still, the timing is certainly interesting. Allu Arjun deleted his Independence Day post after a flag-related controversy, and now Vijay has also removed his post along with the production house. Two stars deleting I-Day posts on the same day was bound to get social media talking.

Rana Baali is directed by Rahul Sankrityan and stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, who reunite after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. Vijay plays Ranabaali, while Rashmika plays his wife Jayamma. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector.

For now, the mystery remains: Why did Vijay and the Rana Baali team delete the Independence Day post?
