During a promotional interview with Suma, Ranabaali director Rahul Sankrityan, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna shared several interesting details about the film.

Vijay Deverakonda plays Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, a character inspired by historical figures from the Rayalaseema region. Rahul believes the role will remain memorable and become a milestone in Vijay’s career. He also said the commercial high the film offers is something audiences need to experience on the big screen.

The director also praised Vijay and Rashmika’s on-screen chemistry. The two play a husband and wife, and Rahul believes their portrayal will become a reference point for future films.

Rashmika plays Jayamma, and the team worked extensively on her preparation. She trained with a coach from Anantapur for four to five months to master the Rayalaseema dialect and local slang.

Rahul also revealed how the two actors bring different energies to the sets. When Vijay is shooting, the team works at a fast pace and stays focused on avoiding delays. Rashmika, meanwhile, brings a relaxed atmosphere to the set.

According to Rahul, Ranabaali blends historical research and serious themes with commercial entertainment, emotional depth and engaging episodes.

Currently, the film’s hype does not appear to be particularly strong. However, the director’s comments suggest that there could be substantial content beyond the scale and action.

If the film lives up to these claims, strong word of mouth could help it sustain at the box office. Vijay has endured a difficult phase with a string of disappointing films and flops. Ranabaali could finally give him the genuine success he needs, but everything depends on how well the film connects with audiences.
