Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali has moved into the Dasara race. The makers have announced October 16 as the new release date, putting the film in one of the busiest theatrical windows of the year. Vijay also shared a new poster along with the announcement.
The film was earlier expected to arrive in September, but the plans have now changed. With the new date, Ranabaali will be entering theatres when several big films are also looking at the festive season.
That makes the release interesting from a trade point of view. Jailer 2 is scheduled around the same period, while Dhanush’s OM: Chapter 1 is also targeting the October window. The number of films fighting for screens could become a major factor, particularly in the Telugu States.
Vijay is playing the lead in this period action drama directed by Rahul Sankrityan, with Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Arnold Vosloo is also part of the cast.
For Vijay, Ranabaali comes at an important point as he looks to make a strong impact with his next theatrical outing.
October 16 gives Ranabaali the festive advantage, but getting enough screens in such a packed Dasara season will be the real challenge.
