Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna continue to be among the most popular celebrity pairs in the country. But one of their latest brand advertisements has become the target of unexpected trolling.
A social media user recently slammed the commercial for a leading brand of traditional Indian wedding wear, which plays in PVR theatres before movie screenings, calling it the “worst ChatGPT-generated ad jingle ever.” The post quickly went viral, with hundreds of moviegoers joining the discussion.
Many users joked that the moment the ad starts, they either cover their ears or start talking to the person next to them until it ends. Others said it has become impossible to escape because the same ad plays before almost every movie in PVR theatres.
Unlike YouTube or TV commercials that people can skip or mute, theatre ads are unavoidable. When audiences are forced to hear the same song again and again for weeks, even a decent jingle can become annoying. If the song itself is weak, the trolling only gets worse.
Some users even joked that the lyrics sounded like they were written entirely by ChatGPT without any human touch. That is where the now-viral “ChatGPT-generated jingle” comment came from.
The trolling has also started another discussion online.
Many people feel that when a brand brings together stars like Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, the advertisement should be much better. Their pairing is already popular, so fans expected a catchy song and a memorable commercial that matched their stature. Instead, many feel the ad has become memorable for the wrong reasons.
