Vijay Sethupathi, fresh off the success of Thalaivan Thalaivii, is currently playing the lead in a bilingual film directed by Puri Jagannadh. The actor seems to be on a busy streak, but his upcoming choices have sparked heated debate online.
Reports suggest that after wrapping up his film with Puri Jagannadh, Vijay Sethupathi will team up with Siruthai Siva for a new project. The film is said to be produced jointly by Suriya and KE Gnanavel Raja under Suriya’s new banner, Zhagaram, as a compensation project for losses caused by Kanguva.
This news has triggered sharp reactions on social media. Many users expressed disappointment that Vijay Sethupathi is planning to work with Siruthai Siva, calling him an outdated director. They believe Vijay, who is at his peak after Maharaja and Thalaivan Thalaivii, should avoid such collaborations.
Some also argue that if a compensation project was needed for Kanguva, Suriya himself should have worked with Siruthai Siva instead of passing the burden to Vijay Sethupathi. They feel the move is unfair to an actor enjoying a strong phase in his career.
Meanwhile, Trollers have turned their attention toward Suriya, mocking him for “wisely” shifting Siruthai Siva to Vijay while recovering Kanguva’s losses. The debate has only intensified as fans question the judgment behind these film pairings.
Vijay is already collaborating with another director labelled a “disaster” by fans — Puri Jagannadh — for his upcoming film Slum Dog. Many feel that such choices risk wasting Vijay’s peak career phase with filmmakers past their prime.
However, there’s still no official confirmation about Vijay’s film with Siruthai Siva. Fans now wait to see if these projects, despite the online backlash, will surprise everyone and turn into major successes for the talented actor.
