Success and failures can come thick and fast in the film industry as the tide can change overnight for any technician or actor. This is perfectly applicable in the case of producer, KVN, who made Jana Nayagan with Vijay.
Until a week ago, this film was a dead prospect that was completely tormenting the producer KVN who was running after courts to settle the censor dispute and release the film.
But after the phenomenal success of Thalapathy Vijay in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election, it needs to be said that the producer is a happy guy now.
Firstly, this film is bound to set sensational records at the Tamil box office, considering the insane political legacy that Vijay has created for himself. Even an ordinary content can set a new industry record as such as the jump in Vijay’s image of late.
The producer will easily see a lot of money from this project and the chances are that the OTT platforms will also offer significant deals for the same due to the circumstantial upsurge. This is a much needed positive news for the producer, not just for this film, but also his upcoming dead prospect Toxic.
Yash’s Toxic has been in the production for a long time now, and there is no momentum leading into the release of this film. The producer will have to face the bulk of the burden in case the film fails.
But considering his close association with Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay and the kind of activity that he is observing, producer KVN might not be too bothered about the outcome of Toxic. He is in the good books of Vijay, and this might come with its own gains. Luck and time have favoured him.
Toxic is turning out to be an absolute dead rubber with nothing its way and only time will tell if it will get any better as it gears up for release in June.
