Megastar Chiranjeevi revived his box office prospects with Mana Shankar Varaprasad Garu during the Sankranti season. The film became one of the biggest regional blockbusters in recent times. It also helped rebuild strong market confidence for Chiru.
Now, attention has shifted to Chiranjeevi’s upcoming release Vishwambhara. The project has been in production for several years. Even now, there is very little positive momentum around the film.
The post-production work is still ongoing after repeated complaints about the quality of the graphics. Staying in production for such a long time has placed the film in a risky position. Industry circles do not expect major results from the project.
However, it is better for Chiranjeevi to finish this project sooner rather than delay it further. Mega fans are hoping the film releases during the summer season this year. They expect it to recover at least some revenue at the box office.
With the summer advantage, the film might deliver a mild surprise. Even if it performs below expectations, the season could still add some extra box office support. Summer remains stronger than most other release windows.
The general opinion is that both Chiranjeevi and the producers should complete the remaining work and release the film on priority. The summer calendar is anyway looking vacant due to the lack of big hero films.
