The buzz around War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR has been growing for months — but not in the usual way for a film of this scale.
Despite being part of the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe and featuring a star-studded cast, the promotional campaign has remained surprisingly low-key.
Unlike other big-budget films that begin teasing months in advance with posters, songs, and behind-the-scenes content, War 2 has been unusually quiet.
The only teaser released so far failed to make a strong impression. Many viewers were disappointed by the poor visual effects and the way Jr. NTR was presented, calling it below par for a film of this magnitude.
Sources say director Ayan Mukerji and his team have taken the feedback seriously. They reportedly reworked the theatrical trailer to give both Hrithik Roshan and NTR equal weight and screen presence.
With the release date set for August 14, 2025, the final trailer is expected to drop next week around 23-25th July, according to entertainment journalist Himesh Mankad from Pinkvilla.
The trailer is said to focus on the film’s three main leads — Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani — while showcasing the scale of the production and the emotional stakes of the story.
Yash Raj Films is planning to use the trailer launch as the real beginning of its promotional push, hoping to build the much-needed excitement that has so far been missing.
The film has reportedly been shot across multiple countries and features six large-scale action sequences.
Music composer Pritam has scored two songs — one a romantic track, and the other a dramatic dance face-off between Hrithik and Jr. NTR, which is expected to be a major highlight.
More than just a sequel, War 2 is being positioned as a key chapter in the future of the YRF Spy Universe.
Whether the marketing strategy of holding back content pays off or not, the theatrical trailer will be crucial in shaping public perception and driving momentum as the release date approaches.
