Watch: Chaos at Salaar Theaters

For the unversed, Mythri Movie Makers are distributing Salaar in Nizam. They have now come up with the move of selling the first day tickets for the film at the theaters itself instead of online ticketing. This is a bid to bring back the bygone offline ticketing culture.

This move has turned out to be a poor one as the theaters that are selling Salaar tickets are seeing massive crowds.

People are turning up in big numbers to get their hands on the tickets. This is leading to a tense situation at the theaters and police are being called into action to control the situation. There are videos on social media where the police are enforcing lathi charge to bring the situation under control. This is a mega disaster to say the least.

There was always the risk of such law and order issues with offline ticketing plans. There are also complaints that a few theaters are blocking the majority of the offline tickets and selling them at higher prices in the black market.

Cinema-goers are used to booking tickets online and this was a smooth process without any hassles. So out of the blue move to start offline ticketing made very little sense. It is having repercussions now.
