We can’t make short films with songs - Nagarjuna

Running time seems to be one of the major concerns of most south Indian films nowadays as more and more filmmakers are making films that are running close to nearly three hours long. One of the reasons for it is that we haven’t done away with songs from our films says Nagarjuna.

He says we can’t make films that are lesser than two hours with songs as well since he believes the story of our films should at least be two hours long and the rest of the addition is five or six songs. He also believes it’s nearly impossible to do away songs from our films because we have got used to it for many years now.

He says despite the running time, Indian films are engrossing and that’s why we have blockbusters like “Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani” and “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”. Of course, Nag believes films should predominantly be only two hours and twenty minutes long, and not a minute longer.
