Director Venky Atluri’s latest film Lucky Bhaskar collected 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office. However, his comments about his previous project, Sir, in a recent interview have stirred up discussions on social media.
After the release of Lucky Bhaskar, there was criticism on social media about Venky Atluri. He was accused of offering fluffy romantic routine scripts to Telugu heroes and dynamic, strong scripts to Tamil heroes.

He seems to have taken those comments seriously. He is now responding strongly to those allegations in this interview.
Venky Atluri revealed that he had initially pitched the script to several Telugu heroes. They rejected it, citing reasons like the lack of a happy ending and a passive storyline.

Many felt the climax wasn’t impactful enough, which led them to turn it down.
Venky Atluri also mentioned that while Telugu actors were looking for a more conventional film with a satisfying conclusion, Dhanush, upon hearing the story, immediately agreed to take on the role.

To be honest, if a Telugu hero had done the film, the result might have been different. However, Dhanush brought the right intensity and made the character his own. Sir’s success was mainly due to the uniqueness that Dhanush brought.
Telugu stars made the right decision by rejecting it. They couldn’t have made the film stand out. There was nothing for them in the script. Nani is the only hero who might have suited Sir’s script, but even he couldn’t have taken Sir to the level that Dhanush did.
It was a blessing in disguise for Venky Atluri that Telugu heroes rejected the script and Dhanush stepped in.
