Nowadays many Bollywood film makers are after remaking South superhit movies in Hindi. Especially many Telugu movies had been remade with top stars which rejunevated the stars’ career in Bollywood. Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar stand first in starring in remake films from Tollywood (Kick, Vikramarkudu, Stalin etc).
Once again Akshay Kumar is coming with a remake film ‘Gabbar Is Back’ which is a remake of Tamil film ‘Ramana’ remade in Telugu as ‘Tagore’. There is no problem in remaking a film of one language into another. But the problem is the time span between the original and the remake. ‘Tagore’ came a decade ago and Akshay Kumar’s film is coming this May Day in 2015.

Earlier another Telugu film ‘Okkadu’ was remade into Hindi as ‘Tevar’ starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha. The remake came after a decade of the original’s release. But failed to create any impact at the ticket windows. 10 years is a huge gap and not only the audiences’ tastes have changed but also the socio-economic and political conditions.
Will ‘Gabbar Is Back’ directed by Telugu director Krish Jagarlamudi be able to really create a fresh perspective to the angle of corruption which would interest the present day audience? Only few more days to go for the final verdict of the audiences. Let’s see.
