One must say that ‘DevaDas’ has been performing decently in the theatres and so far the movie has grossed $646 K by the end of the first weekend. Superficially, the number may look decent but there is a big question. Will this figure be happy news for the buyers in the US?

Nani’s last release ‘Krishnarjuna Yuddham’ (KAY) was a huge disappointment and hence if we ignore KAY and take ‘MCA’ into consideration, ‘MCA” had grossed $750 K by the first weekend itself, and trade had witnessed many Nani’s movies making to the million-mark, quite effortlessly. A million at bare minimum is the break-even for most of the recent Nani’s films in the US.
‘DevaDas‘ has Nag to add to the break-even figure and therefore, the figure will be even higher. Next week, Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘NOTA’ is coming to theatres right after the new star’s blockbuster ‘Geetha Govindam’ that has grossed $2.4 million. In this scenario, will Nag-Nani movie make it to the million-club, even? Going by the figures, Deva (Nag) and Das (Nani) movie may not be a celebration for the US buyers. Let’s see.
