Eros International has been in movie business for a long time and has seen many highs and lows as well. Currently the production house is going in what could be termed an all time low considering the scale of losses.
All its acquisitions in the Southern film industries, 1 Nenokkadine, Kochadaiiyaan and Aagadu, this year have been colossal flops. One doesn’t need to mention the extent of the damage just looking at those names should be enough for us to get an idea. Imagine similar kind of films in Hindi as well and you know the kind of year they have been going through.
Lingaa starring Superstar Rajinikanth is their last big release of the year. The question now on every movie goer mind if will Superstar Rajinikanth rescue them or will he succumb to their poor run. Lingaa is coming with good hype in Tamil but the Telugu version has very little going for it. Would you believe it that the advance booking for the film have already been opened for two days already and not many know about it. The makers had no choice but to arrange an audio launch at this time for the Telugu version looking at the tepid response.
Will the audio launch do the trick for the film? In the past Rajini’s Chandramukhi too came in a similar way with not many being aware of it but once the word of mouth spread about it, it had a sensational run.
