Yash on Rashmika’s ‘Insulting’ Comment: That’s Her Opinion

Yash reacts to Rashmika comment

Yash has finally addressed an old controversy involving Rashmika Mandanna. During his appearance on Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat as part of the promotions of Toxic, Yash was reminded of Rashmika once describing him as a “show off” in an interview early in her career.

Instead of taking offence, Yash looked at the comment in context. He pointed out that Rashmika was extremely new to the industry at the time and suggested that the format of the interview itself may have played a role. According to Yash, she was given certain options in response to what he called a “nonsense show” and simply picked one.

Yash made it clear that he does not attach much importance to such opinions. Someone else’s perception of him, he explained, does not determine who he actually is. He has therefore never allowed the old remark to bother him.

However, the bigger issue came from what happened afterwards.

Rashmika faced considerable trolling and backlash from a section of Yash’s fans following the remark. Yash made it clear that he does not support such behavior at all. He does not encourage his fans to abuse, troll or disrespect other actors because of something said about him.

Yash said that people who disrespect other artists are “not his fans.” “Say whatever you want, but don’t say it by calling yourself my fan,” Yash said.

Whether it is comparisons with other South stars or controversies involving fellow actors, Yash appears keen to keep the focus on cinema rather than personal rivalries.

For Rashmika, the controversy may have been old news. But Yash’s latest comments have effectively closed the chapter from his side. The internet may have wanted another fan war. Yash, thankfully, did not take the bait.
