Tollywood filmmakers seem to be impressed with the whole concept of travelling through time and revisiting the ye olden eras. But instead of going the fancy route of time travel machines, our filmmakers are making use of the primeval myths and legends and their golden history to take the viewers back in time to a period of royalty.

Case in point is the film Rani Rudramma Devi under the direction of director Gunaskehar. The film Rani Rudramma Devi takes its inspiration from the life and times of the well-known warrior princess of the Kakatiya dynasty, who was crowned as the queen about seven centuries ago.




Other examples include director S. S. Rajamouli’s Bahubali which goes even further back in time, a whole 1,000 years! Recently released film Gundello Godari starring Lakshmi Manchu was based on the 1986 Godavari floods.
