Popular yesteryear actress and Padma Vibhushan, B Saroja Devi passed away at the age of 87. She died at her residence in Bengaluru. B Saroja Devi acted in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil films.
She was paired with top stars of her time like NTR, ANR, MGR and Rajkumar. B Saroja Devi made her acting debut with Kannada film Mahakavi Kalidasa in 1955.
In Telugu, she acted in various hit films such as Pelli Kanuka, Intiki Deepam Illalu, Manchi Chedu, Daagudu Mutalu, Pandanti Kapuram, Alludu Diddina Kapuram, Dana Veera Sura Karns, etc.
B Saroja Devi passed away due to age-related problems. She worked in around 200 films that got her the name of chaturbhasa taare as she acted in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi.
She was found unconscious at her residence in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, and rushed to a hospital. She was pronounced dead by the time doctors examined her.
B Saroja Devi was fondly called as Kannadathu Paingili (Kannada parrot) and Abhinaya Saraswati. Popular Tamil actress Khushboo posted her condolences on X and spoke about the warm relationship she shared with B Saroja Devi.
The Kannada-born actress was married to an engineer Sri Harsha in 1967. She had three children, two daughters and one son.
