And with such a reputation comes a smacking pricetag. These fish are known to be sold for exorbitant prices and here’s one such instance.
Going into the story, a fisherman named Vanamadi Adinarayana found a 2-KG pulasa fish in his net and bought it ashore to sell the same. He then found an able customer in one Kollu Nagalakshmi who bought it for a whopping Rs 19,000. And that’s not all.
A representative of a local political leader got in touch with Nagalakshmi and he spent a whopping Rs 26,000 to get ahold of the fish.
The fish was later taken to this political leader to be cooked and served. This speaks volumes about the hype that Pulasa fish enjoys in the Godavari region.
