Just three days before Telangana sees the climax portion of the intense political campaign, CM KCR has been dealt with a shocker of sorts by the Election Commission of India.
The ECI has revoked the permission for the distribution of Rythu Bandhu scheme just two days after approving the same.
When EC approved the scheme a couple of days the condition was that no government and public representative should issue open statements about the credit of the Rythu Bandhu money.
However, BRS bigwig, Harish Rao openly commented about the scheme the other day as he said the Rythu Bandhu money will be credited to farmers on the 28th of this month. This is against the restriction set by the EC.
In view of the latest comment from Harish Rao, the EC has revoked the permission for Rythu Bandhu, meaning the money allocated for the scheme can’t be credited to the farmers.
This is a major blow for BRS and KCR as crediting Rythu Bandhu money – Rs 10,000 per acre for every eligible farmer in the state, two days before the polls could have been a great boon to the party. The cancellation of the program could lead to repercussions internally in BRS.
