Smart Streetlights to Illuminate Amaravati

Smart streetlights project in Amaravati

The AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is now focusing on installing smart streetlights across Amaravati. The plan includes replacing old poles with decorative structures and smart LED luminaires that come with independent control systems.

In the first phase, the smart streetlights will be set up from Karakattu to Kondaveetivagu, covering the Chief Minister’s residence and the seed access road (E3 road). New octagonal poles will be installed along the seed access road.

Existing lights from the E3–N9 junction will be replaced with smart luminaires. APCRDA has floated tenders worth ₹4.4 crore, and the project is expected to be completed within three months.

The initiative aims to improve urban aesthetics, public safety, and energy efficiency in Amaravati’s key corridor.

According to current estimates, Amaravati will be fully developed in three years. The capital city is planned to feature world-class, futuristic infrastructure, and APCRDA is working actively to ensure the city’s facilities reflect its envisioned grandeur.
