Ex minister and YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu has been ordered 14 days remand by the Guntur Prinicipal Court. The Guntur main senior civil judge ordered that Ambati be brought to Guntur on PT warrant. This was regarding the case where Ambati collected money in the name of a lucky draw scheme during Sankranti while being in Minister position.
The judge ordered that he be presented before the Court prior to February 18. Hence, Ambati was brought from Rajahmundry on PT warrant and was presented before the Court. The Court ordered 14 days remand and he was shifted to Rajahmundry jail.
If one goes into details, Ambati ran a lucky draw scheme as a part of 2023 Sankranti celebrations as a Cabinet minister. Under the lucky draw scheme, he used the volunteers to give him Rs 200 each from the pensioners’ monthly money. Calling it illegal, Jana Sena leader Gade Venkateswar Rao filed a case against Ambati in Main Senior Civil Court. Based on his complaint, Sattenapalli police filed a case against Ambati and some others.
